Searches for earthquake survivors continue outside Caracas.

The search for survivors continues in the city of Catia la Mer following last week’s earthquake in Venezuela.

At least 1,450 people are known to have died – but some are still being rescued from collapsed buildings days after the disaster.

In some areas, neighbors and family members have been searching for their loved ones with their bare hands and whatever tools they can get their hands on.

The BBC’s Will Grant, reporting from the scene, described the efforts of local residents to find survivors.
