Casillas also recently revealed his difficulties with Mourinho during an interview with Brazilian legend Romario.

On that occasion, he revealed details about the situation in the last stages of the 2012-13 season, when he was left out of the starting lineup in favor of Diego Lopez.

“This was the most difficult period of my career because I was the captain of the team. I had to talk to him constantly, deal with a lot of issues and in the end what started as a beautiful relationship full of love and affection turned into a full divorce over time.”

Real Madrid decided to bring Mourinho back after two seasons without a major trophy, and it’s clear that things need to change radically if the Special One is to find success at the Bernabeu again.
