A car hit pedestrians and was accused of attempted murder and brought to court

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a vehicle plowed into pedestrians on a busy west London road on Saturday.

Timir Ahmed Mohammed, 34, has been charged with attempted murder as well as five counts of dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a breath sample for analysis and criminal damage, the Metropolitan Police said.

The man, who is of Somali origin, was remanded in custody and appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court later.

Counter-terrorism police have made initial inquiries but the incident in Ealing Broadway is not being treated as terrorism.

Three people were taken to hospital after the crash and two others were treated at the scene.

None of their injuries were life-threatening or life-changing, the Met reported.
