Welshpool: A man died on the road in a homicide investigation

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of another man who was found injured on the road.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the man died “despite the best efforts of the paramedics” who were called to Church Street, Welshpool, Powys in the early hours.

“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones,” the force said.

Additional police officers will be in the area over the coming days as the investigation continues.

Another person is in custody while the investigation continues.

Church Street was closed while officers carried out inquiries in the area.

The force has yet to provide any further details.
