The body of a missing woman has been found in a pool at Sandwell Valley Country Park


A woman has been found from a pool in a West Midlands park after she went missing in the water on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Swan Pool at Sandwell Valley Country Park in West Bromwich following her disappearance at around 16:30 BST.

West Midlands Police confirmed that specialist teams were deployed in the water, where they recovered the body. Nothing could be done to save the 55-year-old, and the force pronounced her dead at the scene.

Her death is not considered suspicious, and the police will contact the killer.

The force is helping the woman’s family and said, “Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”

West Midlands Fire Service were called at 4.45pm on Saturday to reports of a man in distress in the water at Swan Pool and crews, including specialist water rescue firefighters, responded within five minutes.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased woman,” the spokesman said.
