Real Madrid are preparing for a massive summer transfer window purge as they list four players for sale with the aim of raising between €135m and €150m to finance the new deals demanded by technical director Jose Mourinho, reflecting president Florentino Perez’s desire to radically rebuild the squad.
Real Madrid are looking to sell Raul Asensio, Fran Garcia, Camavinga and Gonzalo Garcia after pocketing millions of euros in the Nico Pass transfer deal, as part of an ambitious plan to reinvest the money into a high-profile centre-back and uncreative midfielder, Defense Central, a website close to Royals, has revealed.
The clean-up process essentially began yesterday, Friday, following the departure of Dani Ceballos following an agreement between the two sides to terminate his contract, as the club opted to release him from his salary and sack him without financial compensation, following the previous departures of David Alaba and Dani Carvajal.
Real Madrid value Canary Islands academy graduate Raul Asensio at around €25 million, although his transfer is considered one of the more complicated deals given his high wages following his recent contract extension, especially after Mourinho made it clear he was out of his future plans.
As for Fran Garcia, whose value the club estimates at €20 million, he faces a similar situation, although his salary is slightly lower, while Kamavinga’s problem is two-fold: the Frenchman’s refusal to leave and his high salary, which is an obstacle for many interested clubs, as the club estimates his value at around €50 million.
On the other hand, Gonzalo Garcia is considered the closest of the four to leaving as he has actual offers and his wages are relatively low, while Real Madrid value him at around €40 million, although his departure is not as certain as other players Mourinho wants to get rid of at all costs.
