Brazilian star Ryan Vitor caused a wave of laughter among journalists before the match against Japan in the 32nd round of the 2026 World Cup when he made a sincere confession.
Brazil will meet their Japanese counterpart, who continue to provide advanced levels, in Houston tomorrow, Monday, in a match where both sides will fight for a place in the last 16.
And it was published talkSPORT Network Ryan Vitor’s statements during the press conference regarding the Japanese team.
Ryan was asked who is the best player in Japan and he replied with a smile.
Despite this admission, Ryan explained that he is not completely removed from following the Japanese team and praised its strength.
He added: “We know Japan is a strong team and we are working hard to give our best and win against them.”
Ryan spoke about coach Carlo Ancelotti’s instructions, saying: “Ancelotti talks to us a lot about our defensive responsibilities. He says the control process starts with the attackers. Even when we feel tired, it is our responsibility to put pressure on the opponent.”
The two teams met at the 2006 World Cup, when Brazil easily defeated Japan 4-1, in a match captained by Brazilian legend Zico.
But Japan managed to exact revenge in the last meeting between the two teams when they overcame a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 in a friendly last October.
