Ireland registered their first win at the T20 World Cup with a surprise victory over semi-final hopefuls West Indies in Bristol.

After a fine all-round bowling performance restricted West Indies to 128-7, Orla Prendergast led Ireland’s chase with a stunning 63 off 44 balls.

After Prendergast was dismissed for 21 runs off 28 balls in the 16th over, Rebecca Stoeckel held her nerve in an unbeaten 16 to complete the victory with an 11-ball victory.

Ireland have lost five of their previous 21 matches in the tournament and were the winners of the 2016 West Indies.
