One of the biggest team games of 2026 World Cup happening in Miami on Saturday as Colombia face Portugal in a battle of the top two teams in Group K.

While Colombia have reached the bottom with six points from two games, Portugal are in second place with four points and are eliminated. A second-place finish could give them a strong chance in the knockout stages, with England or Croatia likely to be the opposition.
The Colombian coach warns the team against Ronaldo, Vitinha
Colombia coach Nestor Lorenzo said his team will need to “discipline smartly” against Portugal, who they see as one of the favorites to win. The Colombians need to avoid defeat to progress as group winners, but Lorenzo took nothing lightly against the 5th-placed team in the FIFA World Cup.
“We will try to maintain our form and our football history,” he said.
“But without a doubt, we have to look at other qualities and strengths (that Portugal) have. They are a well-trained team. They have a coach and players who are at the highest level of international football… and this is reflected in their game.”
Lorenzo also said that Colombia will be alert to the threat of Ronaldo, who scored twice in the final game, it is Vitinha, a defensive player known for his control of the ball, the amount of work and the ability to play.
“Both Vitinha and Ronaldo are determined players. One in the team and the way they play, the other in the end,” he added. “That’s why we can’t leave them or ignore them. We hope that the team will be full of oil.”
Colombia is set to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 2018, after failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Opta’s supercomputers have calculated a 48.9% chance for Portugal to win the tournament, while Colombia are rated with a 26% chance of winning. There is a 25.1 percent chance that the game will end in a draw.
Overall, Colombia are the favorites to finish top of Group G, with a 53.32 percent chance, according to Opta.
