Johnson’s Zoo reopens after alligators attack baby.

The boy, who is from Cambridgeshire and visited the zoo with his family, was seriously injured “while in the enclosure”, police said.

It is believed to have been attacked by at least one crocodile.

He received treatment at the scene before being taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

On Monday, police confirmed he was no longer seriously ill, but was in a “stable condition in hospital”.

Chris Newman, director of the National Reptile Safety Centre, told the BBC that Johnson’s family were “all very worried”.

Tracy Johnson, her husband Andy and their young son were involved in the rescue, he said.

“All three were heroes… They are a close-knit family and they are still very shaken.”
