There are tons about large outdoor security camerasbut me floodlight security camera surpasses them all. It combines a smart dual-lens camera design with two bright panels that can illuminate your backyard or driveway. It can also track suspicious people and record your location, so there is no need to register. Sometimes it goes down in price, but right now it’s at the lowest price I’ve ever seen.

There’s some kind of feature on most outdoor security cameras, but they’re usually not bright enough to illuminate a path or yard. You need a light camera for this purpose, and after trying a few, the Eufy E340 is my favorite. It has two light panels that can light up to 2,000 lumens of bright light. You can change the appearance of your panels and even control the brightness of the app.
Beyond the excellent lighting, what sets this security camera apart is the clever dual-lens design, consisting of a 3K wide-angle lens and a 2K telephoto lens that offers 8X zoom. The telephoto lens can capture details, such as faces or car license plates, up to 50 meters away, and the image is clear, thanks to the water reflection. The video is generally sharp, although the low resolution (15 fps) can be weak, especially with moving subjects.
The camera can pan 360 degrees and tilt 120 degrees, and there’s AI tracking, so it automatically follows subjects and returns to your preferred position when it leaves the frame. You can choose a preset location for the camera to move, so it can cover a wide area.
The catch is that it has to be plugged into an outlet or wired, so you either have to run the cable out of the way or have an electrical connector. You can mount it on a wall or ceiling, making it comfortable under your feet, and it also works well on the side or top of the garage.
The beauty of Eufy’s system is that you only pay once. Registration is not required as this camera can record locally. You can insert a microSD card up to 128 GB or connect to Eufy’s HomeBase 3 (sold separately). If you prefer, cloud storage is an option that starts at $3 per month for one camera for 30 days of history. This camera can also record continuously.
