Kim Jong Un wants a ‘killing and devastating look’ as North Korea ramps up its arsenal to reach the entire South.

North Korea has conducted large-scale weapons tests as part of a push to strengthen its military capabilities and strengthen its southern border amid ongoing tensions with South Korea.
Seoul said on Friday it was building a “drone army” after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un conducted a test a day earlier and called on the country to adopt a “deadly and destructive situation,” state news agency KCNA reported.

Kim wanted the military to ensure that “his country’s enemies become unstable and fearful” – an important deterrent – and not dare to attack.
The weapons tested included “special” anti-aircraft missiles, a long-range rocket launcher and an automatic rifle, the AP news agency reported.
KCNA said the military was aiming to inflict “massive damage on key targets including airfields, ports and enemy electronic equipment”.
Kim said Pyongyang wants “higher precision” and longer-range capability in its weapons programs. He said the results show progress North Korea has made in firing on its southern border.
Experts say the upgrade is intended to give North Korea a chance to strike the entire South.

The United States has several military bases in South Korea, which has a population of about 28,500.
Pyongyang has sought to strengthen its military since talks with the US were suspended in 2019.
Earlier this week, Kim said the navy would have nuclear weapons and large warships, saying that this will ensure that the country prepares for “more and more effective operations”.
Kim has responded to US efforts to restart talks by saying he must drop his demands for North Korea to destroy its nuclear weapons.
The progress of the military development of the North is in the Southwest, and I expect the support of the US.
Last week, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said President Donald Trump told him “it’s time pay attention to the North Korean story“.
On Friday, South Korea’s Defense Ministry said it plans to expand its drone capabilities, both in terms of size and scope, in response to North Korean threats.
Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back said the military plans to train 500,000 “drone warriors” who will be able to use drones as “personnel guns”.
He added that there is a need for an urgent response to the situation, saying that Pyongyang is receiving technical assistance from Russia.
Meanwhile, President Lee announced plans to establish five defense companies worth $650m by 2030.
