World Cup 2026: Selling cars and hanging up – now for Scotland?

If Scotland goes through, there are three possible destinations.

Returning to Boston to meet the Group E winners on Monday, June 29 (21:30 BST), it could be Germany.

Second Road has already confirmed its opponent – Mexico in Mexico City at 02:00 BST on Wednesday, 1 July.

The odds of meeting the winner of Group I, France or Norway at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on Tuesday 30 June (20:00 BST) are slim.

Dave Watson, a presenter on Scotland’s No Party podcast, first expressed his interest and decided to go home after the final.

He told BBC Scotland that the plan now is to go to New York on Thursday and stay until Scotland’s fate is decided.

“My dad has a flight home on Friday,” Calum, from Lynwood, told us.

Think Alan Horsburgh, who has a lot of mess to work through.

“From Orlando I go home to Reykjavík to Copenhagen where I live.

Tomorrow I have a five-hour bus ride from Miami to Orlando, and on that five-hour bus ride I’m going to look at eight million different orders; If we hang out and play, I try to do it.

“I would have done one of two things, I would have decided to take my flight back home and look at the options to return home or return to my wife.

“If we end up playing in Mexico City, not perfect, not perfect, but maybe I can get her some cheap flights to Boston with air miles.”

Ian Greenwell, from Bathgate, said: “We’re at home tomorrow but we’ll keep an eye on the results. If we go through we’ll be back.”

Leslie Higgins added: “We’re back home in Connecticut on Saturday but we’re lucky, we’re halfway there.”

“If we go through, it’s going to be really hard not to fly, especially if it’s in Boston.”

“Our whole family was in Boston. I don’t think we could all get back. The credit card was broken.”
