In Venezuela, two powerful earthquakes in seconds have caused so much damage to homes and buildings in many parts of the country, at least 164 people have died and hundreds have been injured.

The first quake struck at 18:04 local time (22:04 GMT), about 23 kilometers south-east of Yumare, west of the capital Caracas.

A second 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck at the same location 38 seconds later.
