He scored a brace against Scotland
The arbitration ruling has angered Brazil’s Vinicius Junior during his country’s match against Scotland in the early hours of Thursday in the third round of the group stage.
Brazil won 3-0 Vinicius Junior scored (two goals) in the 7th and 45th + 3 minutes, while Matheus Cunha scored the third to lead the samba team with 7 points in the group, 7 points ahead of their Moroccan counterpart with the same number of points.
After Vinicius scored the first goal, he tried again to grab the net, which he managed to do to great joy, but the referee disallowed it, much to the anger of the Brazilian player.
The incident took place in the 22nd minute of the game, when Mexican referee Cesar Ramos ruled that the Brazilian’s goal was disallowed.
According to the newspapercome on“This is a shame,” the Brazilian told the referee after the decision was announced. Vinicius was not satisfied and quickly got into a heated verbal argument with the referee.
The attack started with a mistake in Scotland’s own half. Vinicius took advantage of the confusion in the opposition’s defense and advanced, passing through Hendrie’s leg, allowing him to dribble into the box, and the chance ended with a powerful low shot that found the back of the net.
Initially, the goal was accepted without objection, but the Mexican referee reviewed the play and concluded that Vinicius had touched the foot of the Scottish defender, thereby disallowing the goal scored by the Brazilian team.
