The Moroccan team lost a bigger victory
Morocco made World Cup history in more ways than one after defeating Haiti from behind (4-2) in the final round of the third group competition at the 2026 FIFA World Cup this Thursday morning.
Morocco became the second African team to score four goals in a World Cup match, after neighbors Algeria, who beat South Korea (4-2) at the 2014 World Cup.

Morocco had lost 11 of their previous 12 matches to go under at the World Cup, with the only other match ending in a 1-1 draw with Bulgaria in 1970, before Morocco managed to turn the tables against Haiti, coming from behind twice (1-0 and 2-1).
With this victory, the “Atlas Lions” finished the group stage in second place in Group C, behind the leader Brazil on goal difference, with 7 points each.
The Moroccan national team has scheduled a day in the round of 32 with the leaders of Group F, which includes the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Tunisia, while Brazil, who beat Scotland (3-0) today, will face the runner-up of the same group.
The Netherlands enter the finals at the top of their group, making them the most likely candidates to meet Morocco in the next round if they retain top spot, while Japan are second on goal difference (4 points each).
