The Seleção lead the group on goal difference over the Atlas Lions
It wasn’t just a group stage match, it was a night to herald the Seleção’s return to glory… a clean 3-0 win against Scotland, where Brazil flooded the opposition’s net and filled the stands with joy in a showdown that brought them together in the 2nd and final stages of the 220th and final World Cup.
The most notable sight was the return of wizard Neymar da Silva after a long absence from the green rectangle, exhausting his fans to quickly make his mark and lead the samba battalion to the top of Group Six with full marks.
The group was not easy and included a stubborn Morocco and an ambitious Haiti, but Brazil deservedly won the summit, confirming that their path to a sixth title goes from here and that the No. 10 is ready to write a new chapter of glory.
Vinicius Junior (two goals) scored for Brazil, the first in the 7th and 45th + 3 minutes, and the third by Matheus Cunha, leading the samba team with 7 points in the group, ahead of their equal-point counterpart, Morocco, who led by 7 points on goal difference.
The match started with clear Brazilian attacking power as the Celesa pressed high from the opening minutes. In the fifth minute, Vinicius Junior managed to open the scoring with a powerful right-footed shot from the penalty area, taking advantage of Ryan’s decisive pass and putting Brazil ahead with an unanswered goal.
Scotland responded with quick counter-attacks through McTominay and McKean, but the Brazilian defense stood firm.

In the 18th minute, the Brazilians wasted a dangerous opportunity after a quick rebound led by Vinicius, and Robertson sent it to the corner. The 22nd minute then saw Vinicius Junior’s second goal disallowed after a video assistant referee (VAR) check.
Brazil continued to dominate midfield through Paquette and Casemiro, while Scotland tried to press for an equaliser, notably through McCain’s passes and McTominay’s rush in the 29th and 35th minutes.
Despite the defensive struggle of the Brazilians at times, the back lines maintained their advantage with a clear goal until the 40th minute.
As the half drew to a close, the tempo picked up and the battle heated up in midfield as Brazil’s Cunha wasted a golden opportunity in the 45th minute after a superb save from the Scottish keeper to keep it 1-0 until the final moments.

In the third minute of stoppage time (45+3), Vinicius Junior headed the second ball powerfully from close range into the top left corner, taking advantage of Bruno Guimarães’ accurate pass to end the first half with a comfortable 2-0 lead for the Brazilians.
The Brazilian team entered the second half with great strength, dominating the ball and applying high pressure in the first minutes through Vinicius Junior, Rocha and Paquet.
Scotland responded with quick counter-attacks through McKenna and McLean, but Brazil held on to a comfortable 2-0 lead.
In the 51st minute, Vinicius Junior almost completed his hat-trick after a perfect pass into the penalty area, but goalkeeper Angus Gunn stepped in at the right time and made a brilliant save as the Brazilians continued to dominate the game.

An hour into the game, the Seleção’s third goal came in the 60th minute when Mateusz Cunha scored a beautiful right-footed strike from the center of the penalty area off a Bruno Guimaraes pass to make it 3-0.
The Brazilian coach made an attacking substitution in the 76th minute, bringing on Neymar da Silva for Matheus Cunha, while the Brazilians squandered a fourth goal chance after a quick and coordinated rebound that ended up narrowly wide.
Brazil made a further two substitutions in the 82nd minute, with Endric replacing Ryan and Alex Sandro replacing Douglas Santos, finishing the second half in complete control as they cruised to a comfortable 3-0 lead over Scotland.
In the 89th minute, Neymar received a free kick on the left wing, but it did not lead to an effective attack, so the match ended with a 3-0 victory for Samba.
