The Algerian legend speaks ahead of the third round of the group stage
Algerian football legend Rabah Majer praised the teams of Egypt, Morocco and Algeria, considering that they were the best Arab teams in the finals of the 2026 World Cup so far.
The curtain came down on the first and second rounds of the World Cup group stage, in which 48 teams, including 8 Arab teams, participated for the first time in history.
Madger said during MBC 1’s Nadina program. “The Moroccan team is doing a good job, as is the Algerian team, who came back from the defeat against Argentina and beat Jordan and proved their level in this game and their ability to reach the next round.”
He added: “Tunisia are a great team with outstanding players, but they lost to Sweden by five goals to one, and before that to Belgium in a friendly, which made me wonder how that happened.”
He added: “The Egyptian team also played a very good game against New Zealand. It’s the first time I’ve seen an Egyptian team with such determination, especially in the second half, where they played a very strong game and didn’t give up, even though New Zealand is a good team.”
It is noteworthy that the Egyptian team leads its group in the World Cup with 4 points, two points ahead of Belgium and Iran, while the Moroccan team shares the lead with the Brazilian team, and Algeria shares the runner-up position with Austria, behind Argentina.
