8BitDo’s all-in-one button manager gets screen upgrades for updates without an app

8BitDo has announced its new model All button arcade controller which started a little over a year ago. The new Arcade Controller Pro looks similar to the original 8BitDo with a wireless (or Hitbox) design that replaces joysticks and buttons for better control and responsiveness. The new Pro version comes with updates that include a slimmer 16mm design, an extra button, and a smaller screen that lets you customize the map and other settings without having to open 8BitDo’s Ultimate Software V2 on another device – although this is also supported.

Pricing, availability, and ordering times for the Arcade Controller Pro have not been confirmed. Last year’s version is still $89.99but the Pro prices may be more due to the added functionality. In addition to reconfiguring the controller’s customizable buttons that now include a fifth button on the left side of the controller, the small monochromatic display can be used to check the battery level, change the volume, and change how the Pro reacts when you press multiple buttons at once. Battery life is estimated to be up to 15 hours of playback using Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless.

Each button of the Arcade Controller Pro is powered by the company’s proprietary 8BitDo Core Green processor. Kailhbut this can be changed with other switches for a different feel. The company says the design of the Pro’s rotary buttons has been optimized for ease of installation, and the controller comes with five locking buttons that can replace its five buttons designed to lock and prevent accidental presses.
