Gemini did a great job with most communication rules, although you still need to specify some requests. For example, my three-story house has two smart thermostatsone for the higher officials, and the other for the two lower ones. I asked to turn on the AC, which Gemini did immediately, but it didn’t ask me to specify which one it was and I thought it was time for the AC to turn on. It also changed to Eco mode, so I had to ask for the thermostats to be set to 75 degrees instead of the high 70s. However, I was able to casually say “Can you set the temperature in the living room to 75, and in the attic?” and installed on all smart thermostats.
Gemini Live is an alternative to Google Home Speaker (only available on older devices). You tell the speaker, “Hey Google, let’s talk,” and it will launch a conversational system that regularly chats with you about whatever topics you bring up. I had a back-and-forth conversation with Gemini about my 3-year-old’s sleep schedule, how to deal with sunburn on your head (you won’t imagine what I found out this weekend), and I asked about a summary of last night’s story. Love Island (although Gemini had no further explanation for the episode that started a few hours earlier).
Gemini also asked follow-up questions with each topic to keep the conversation going, but they switched gears to each topic I introduced. It works as intended, but I’m not sure how useful it is at home – you can use this on your smartphone. It’s not that I like my way of learning or discussing new things, but audio students would love it.
I was happy to ask Gemini what they see at home via my Google security camerasbut the experience did not please me as much as I had hoped. From time to time, I ask questions about whether the car is in the garage, and Gemini says that it either has no information or that I need to upgrade my subscription to get an answer (you need Google Home Advanced).

Google and Amazon he made the same move almost immediately: A new small speaker that promises the sound of big speakers, set you back $100. Small speakers like previous Echo Dot models are Google Home Mini They became popular because they could be placed anywhere, whether on a crowded shelf or tucked into a corner of the kitchen, but they were very cheap.
