Why are there holiday delay warnings on the EU’s new border system?

EES started rolling out in October last year and is now fully operational.

The length of time it takes to register biometrics means people have been told to prepare to wait at border controls.

During the check-in, queues at certain airports started to flare up at peak times.

Since then, the system has been working well at some airports, while others have been reported to be down for several hours.

A representative from airline trade body IAA warned that queues could be as long as six hours in some areas.

Travel experts and industry experts have blamed problems with technology and border workforce levels. There have also been reports of people having to register their biometric data more than once.

The British boss of Wizz Air told the BBC that passengers should be prepared for protection and turn up Three hours before their flight home.

Some passengers missed their flights home because they were unable to reach their gates in time as they waited for EES checks.

It’s a different picture for passengers who book flights with airlines or not. Ryanair is an example of a carrier that says it will wait as long as possible, while some say it won’t.
