The UN’s maritime watchdog has launched an operation to evacuate more than 11,000 seafarers in the Strait of Hormuz after the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding halted the conflict. The waterway has been effectively blocked by Iran since February, leaving ships stranded for months.
