The reliable MacBook Air, the powerful MacBook Pro, and the affordable MacBook Neo are all on sale on Prime Day, though none of the discounts are as big as usual.
Instead, it’s Apple default warning with the upcoming high prices, it’s still a good time to buy a MacBook while it’s still cheap.

The M5 MacBook Air it is the laptop that most people should buy. If you work on your laptop all the time, you want something without too much distraction, and that’s what the MacBook Air offers. It’s a great laptop for what it wants to be.
You may be tempted by the low price of the MacBook Neo or the sleek design of the MacBook Pro. I understand. The appeal is strong on both sides, but trust me: the MacBook Air is the smart choice. It’s easy to carry, the screen is still sharp and bright, and the M5’s performance will last for years to come. But most importantly, the MacBook Air is the one you can buy that won’t make you regret it later, either because you paid more for the MacBook Pro or felt you weren’t limited by the restrictions of the MacBook Neo.
It’s true that Apple sold its previous MacBook Air for up to $750 this time last year. But the 2026 M5 version comes with twice the storage (now at 512 GB). The lowest price right now is over on Amazon, where the base configuration costs $949. That’s $150 off, and while it’s not the lowest I’ve seen this laptop go, it’s still pretty solid compared to the competition in Windows land.
There is also 15-inch model focus, which has a very large screen without adding much of the thickness.
The best MacBook deals for Prime Day are on M5 MacBook Pro. This is a 14-inch model, launched at the end of 2025. Although it does not represent a significant increase in performance over the MacBook Air, it offers you an HDR-ready Mini-LED display. It’s brighter and more color accurate than the MacBook Air. It also comes with a Nano Texture display, which is great for reducing glare. Another big upgrade is in the additional ports, which include HDMI and an SD card slot. Beyond that, it’s a slightly thicker laptop with better speakers and a slightly larger display.
