Alvarez is tied to Atletico Madrid on a long-term contract that runs until June 30, 2030 and includes an astronomical release clause of €500 million, a figure that Atletico’s management have stuck to, stressing that the player is not for sale and will not entertain offers to include him, at a time when the player insists the best move is to leave.
