Journalist Ahmed Schubert has settled the controversy surrounding the futures of Emam Ashour and a number of Al-Ahly players, following recent reports that they have received professional offers following their brilliance with Egypt at the 2026 World Cup.
Schubert confirmed through his account on Platform X that Al-Ahly management have not yet received any official offer for any of the team’s players, despite the many rumors circulating in the current period.
Schubert noted that Al-Ahly has not yet received an official offer to sign any of its players, noting that there is a lot of talk in the US about some names, but the players have agreed to postpone any offers or discussions regarding their futures until after the World Cup.
He added that the players’ attention is fully focused on the Egyptian national team’s journey at the World Cup and not currently preoccupied with any matters related to transfers or foreign offers.
Schubert’s comments come as several names at Emam Ashour’s Al-Ahly have been linked with interest from foreign clubs, particularly from the American League, following the player’s recent impressive displays for Egypt.
Egypt are having a special run at the World Cup, taking four points from the first two rounds in Group Seven, drawing 1-1 with Belgium and then beating New Zealand 3-1 to move closer to qualifying for the next round.
