Real Madrid have settled a bitter European battle to sign promising Swedish striker Felicia Schröder, 19, from Haken after raising their bid to €1.5m, beating Chelsea’s €1.4m bid, the most expensive in women’s football history.
Spanish newspaper AS report that the deal is almost done, with only an official announcement remaining, while Swedish sources have confirmed that the deal has already been completed, a major win for Royals who outnumbered major European clubs interested in the player in the current summer transfer window.
An exceptional talent
Schröder, who was born in Bjorkö in 2007, is regarded as one of the world’s top female soccer talents as she has proven her ability to compete at the highest levels despite her young age.
Schröder joined Haken in the reserve team in 2023, but he made his Swedish Premier League debut aged just 16 and scored in his first game, becoming the youngest player in the competition’s history to achieve the feat.
Development of a rocket
The Swedish attacker continued his rocket development. He had 3 goals and an assist in 15 games in 2023, then 12 goals and an assist in 24 games in 2024, before his talent exploded in 2025, scoring 30 goals in 26 league games, in addition to 18 goals in 15 cup games.
At European level, she made 23 appearances, scoring 3 goals in 14 Champions League matches and 8 goals in 6 Europa League games, winning the title and the Golden Boot, a remarkable achievement for a girl not yet nineteen years old.
A promising international career
He has been called up by Sweden at all age groups, where he scored two goals in 7 games for the U-17 national team and 6 goals in 6 games for the U-19s, while making 11 first-team appearances and providing two assists in a promising international career that confirms exceptional talent.
An attacking partnership with Caicedo
Real Madrid need to take their women’s attack to a new level, and Schröder, noted for her high goal feel and excellent movement in the box, is the ideal choice to form a strong attacking partnership with Colombian Linda Caicedo for years, a deal considered the most famous in the history of the Real Madrid women’s section.
