Julián Alvarez’s resounding declarations of his desire to leave Atletico sparked a wave of celebration in the Barcelona dressing room, as Xavi and Fermin López expressed their public admiration for the Argentine forward’s comments on social media, making it clear that the Catalan side welcome his arrival.

Catalan newspaper Sport revealed that Xavi had reacted with admiration to a post published by the paper, which included a video of Alvarez’s statements to ESPN, in which he said he had already spoken to “club officials” to say “the best thing for everyone is to move and I want to achieve my dream”, while Fermin Lopez did the same to Italian journalist Fabri.
