Marc Marquez: MotoGP champion extends contract with Ducati

Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez has extended his contract with Ducati until 2028.

The 33-year-old Spaniard joined the team in 2024 and won his seventh title last year – his first since 2019.

“I continue to compete because I love this sport and I want to achieve more ambitious goals. I’m sure this is the right place to do it,” said Marquez.

He leads this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix by 40 points over championship leader Marco Bezecchi after his early season was disrupted by injury.

Marquez is protected 100th career win All across the class with a commanding win at the Hungarian Grand Prix this month, less than a month after shoulder and leg surgery.

He follows it victory Sunday at the Czech Grand Prix.

“I am very happy with this new contract with the Ducati Lenovo Team and to continue being part of this family,” said Marquez.

“With this renewal, they reaffirmed that commitment, respecting my time and giving me the peace of mind I needed to make the right decision.”
