Lille opens the door to Real Madrid and sets a price for Bouadi

Young Moroccan star Ayoub Bouadi, 18, has become the focus of a heated European conflict between the leaders of the old continent after his remarkable brilliance with France’s Lille and the Moroccan national team at the 2026 World Cup.

German journalist Patrick Berger has reported on Sky Sports that Lille are willing to sell the key midfielder for offers starting at €70m, reflecting his rising market value following his exceptional performances at the World Cup.

Real Madrid topped the list of those interested. Royal scouts, including technical director of scouting Jonny Calafat, were in attendance at Morocco’s game against Brazil to keep a close eye on the player and he is seen as an exceptional talent at the Bernabeu.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are among the first to be interested in the Moroccan gem as the Gunners are in ongoing talks with the player and his entourage with plans to intensify negotiations after the World Cup, while other big-name clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern are monitoring the situation.

Bouadi’s contract, which extends until June 2029, which he signed last December, gives his club a lot of negotiating power, especially after previous statements by club president Olivier Letong:

Next summer looks set to witness a fierce scramble to sign Moroccan talent in a deal that could set records for young African players and redraw the power map in Europe.
