Algeria came from behind to beat Jordan 2-1, knocking Jordan out of the World Cup World Cup 2026 news

Goals from Nadhir Benbouali and Amine Gouiri led Algeria to a 2-1 win over Jordan in Group J, completing their return to the second round.

Algeria bounced back as they beat Jordan 2-1 on Monday, keeping hopes of reaching the playoffs alive. World Cup andknocking tours and blame their opponents for a quick exit from Group J.

After a long and frustrating struggle to break open the tight Jordanian defense, Algeria turned the game around with two goals in 13 minutes of the second half from Nadhir Benbouali and ⁠Amine Gouiri.

Jordan took the Algerian wave and took the lead in the 36th minute after a defensive error led to a counterattack which was finished off by Nizar Al-Rashdan’s low corner.

Algeria went ahead in the 69th minute when substitute Benbouali headed home Riyad Mahrez’s corner, before Gouiri headed home the winner eight minutes later.
