Ex-champion Wilson robbed in ‘deeply distressing’ incident

Former world champion Kieran Wilson had his home burgled while playing in a snooker event in Leicester and the thieves made off with the cash as he donated it to charity.

Wilson, 34, withdrew from the Championship League snooker event after winning his opening match 3-0.

Among the items stolen from Wilson’s home were three watches, jewellery, and £2,000 in cash for a children’s cancer charity.

Wilson said:, outsider “The offenders were captured on CCTV and stole several items of significant sentimental and financial value.

“They stole £2,000 in cash which was set aside as a donation to the BeMoreFab Children’s Cancer Charity, making this incident even more upsetting for our family.

“It has been a deeply harrowing experience, not only because of the value of the items, but because of the personal memories and the meaning attached to them.”
