Algeria coach Vladimir Petkovic has come to the defense of his goalkeeper Luca Zidane after he was heavily criticized after the game against Argentina.

Luca Zidane’s start to the World Cup was not ideal after he conceded three goals from Lionel Messi as Algeria lost 3-0 to defending champions Argentina.

Criticism and demands for a change in the goalkeeper’s position intensified in Algeria in the hours leading up to the Desert Warriors’ clash with Jordan.

Luca Zidane has only played 8 matches for Algeria, which is a small number for many fans who are calling for him to be replaced.

However, coach Vladimir Petkovic came out to respond to these criticisms and publicly support the goalkeeper.
