Talk of the Belgium match has been postponed
Former Egypt star Ahmed Hossam Mido has sparked controversy ahead of the Pharaohs’ second match of the 2026 World Cup against New Zealand, scheduled for Monday morning.
Technical director Hossam Hassan’s battalion played a one-goal draw with Belgium in the opening match of the seventh group, in which the advantage was given to the Egyptian team, which missed the victory.

Mido’s comments have angered many of his followers, with some wondering why he said these words at this time, while others agreed with him and warned of a lapse in focus following the plaudits the Pharaohs received after the Belgium game and expressed their fear of a slip-up against New Zealand.
Mohamed Salah’s companions continue the search for the first victory of the Egyptian team in the history of participation in the World Cup, noting that this is the fourth participation of the Pharaohs in the World Cup.
