IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals captain Ryan Parag fined after vaping in dressing room

Rajasthan Royals captain Ryan Parag has been fined 25% of his match fee after he was spotted fuming in the dressing room during an Indian Premier League match.

The 24-year-old Parag was seen inhaling from a device during television coverage of Tuesday’s IPL match against Punjab Kings.

Organizers said he had breached the tournament’s code of conduct, relating to “behaviour which brings the sport into disrepute”.

Parag confessed to the crime.

He was also given a demerit point but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said it was “exploring other options” to take “stern action” against the team, officials and players “to keep the reputation of the IPL intact”.

The use of e-cigarettes for nicotine consumption is illegal in India.

Earlier in the tournament, Royals manager Ravinder Singh Bhinder was fined for using a mobile phone in the dugout during a match.
