Earlier this week, Blue Origin offered a job offer to a “general manager” to oversee the production of the “Quattro” tanks, and the description contained some interesting information.
“As part of a team of hardworking professionals, technicians, and engineers, you will be the General Manager of Gen 2.0 Tank Fabrication, and you will be the owner of the most complex and important part of the vehicle – the tank,” job posting it says.
Quattro is the name of the company’s most advanced New Glenn rocket, which will have four BE-3U engines instead of the two that are increasing power. Blue Origin plan disclosures of these powerful New Glenn models, 9×4 (nine original engines, and four advanced engines), last November.
It is possible that this rocket, much larger than the 7×2 model currently flying and important for industrial purposes as part of NASA’s Artemis program, could launch next year.
There are additional details that confirm Blue Origin’s willingness to accelerate with its New Glenn vehicle, which has launched three times since its launch in January 2025.
The tasks include doing a “ramp” – that is, the number of production – of 12 per year currently to 60 per year by the third quarter of 2028, followed by the number of production of the second part of 100 per year by 2029. A company official told Ars that these production goals are accurate.
