Smart lighting company Philips Hue has launched its first wire modules. Installed behind existing switches, these new devices bring non-smart lighting into the Hue ecosystem for the first time. Hue also announced new products Play table with floor lamps which is the cheapest of its kind Examples of Signealong with its accessories E14 candle bulbs which increases white light and Matter-over-Thread interaction.
The new electricity is now available all over the world; however, a Wired Wall Switch Modules and only in Europe. Show CTO George Yianni said Seaside that there are currently no plans to launch in the US, but the company may consider doing so if there is enough interest. “DIY modules are not an established movement in the US; they are very revolutionary,” he said. “If people really want this in the US, then maybe we’ll look at it.” I think modules are fun; it’s something we’ve been talking about for a long time.
The modules are wall relays that fit behind existing switches to control any non-intelligent lighting connected to them, such as fixed ceiling or floor lamps. This can be controlled in the Hue app along with the Hue smart bulbs.
Several companies, including Aqara and Shelly, offer wall relays that add smart control to existing lights without changing the switch, but these are the first to work with the Hue app.
There are three types of Hue Wired Wall Switch Modules, starting at €44.99: 1-channel module for single-rocker switches, 2-channel module for double-rocker switches, and dimmer module.
The fourth part is Hue’s wired version battery powered wall moduleallowing you to use the existing light switch to control the Hue lights. Unlike relay modules, this one will work Hue’s MotionAware and it could be part of a new way of viewing motion at home.
The candle bulbs price $109.99 (€109.99) for a two-pack of white and color-changing lights. Upgrades include higher lumen output, wider white light (1000-20,000K), and Hue’s Chromasync color technology. Designed for decorative lighting, chandeliers, and wall sconces, it is reduced to 0.2%. The bulbs are now visible Matter-over-Thread technologyto be able to connect directly to natural environments such as Apple Home and Google Home without the need for a Hue Bridge.
