Today, Thursday, the Tunisian Football Federation announced the full composition of the new first national team coaching staff that will lead the Carthage Eagles to the 2026 World Cup finals, which will be hosted by Canada, the United States and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

The announcement came after a surprise decision to sack coach Sabri Lamouchi after a heavy 1-5 defeat to Sweden and appoint veteran French coach Hervé Renard in an attempt to salvage Tunisia’s World Cup journey and get it back on track.

The new technical team includes an elite group of local and foreign talents as follows:

Technical Director: Hervé Renard.

Assistant coach: Frederic Biancalini.

Goalkeeper coach: Gilles Fouch.

Physical training: Davit Bariak and Anas Kazuz.

Technical analysis and execution. Wahbi Khazri, Alexander Kerwayan, Hilmi Kashou and Anis Ben Malik.

The presence of former Tunisia star Wahbi Khazri in the coaching staff is the most prominent feature of the new team. He is one of Tunisia’s best players in history and he is second on the team’s top scorers list behind Issam Djomaa with 25 goals. Khazri continues his exceptional career in the coaching staff, hoping to pass on his experience and charisma to the players.

Renard (57), who has an illustrious record, is looking to bring his wealth of experience to the Tunisian squad, having previously led Zambia and Ivory Coast to the Africa Cup of Nations title, qualifying Morocco for the 2018 World Cup and Saudi Arabia for World Cup 2020. 2026 edition.

Tunisia face a tough test in the second round of the group stage when they face Japan on June 21, before ending their campaign in the first round against the Netherlands on the 26th of the same month.
