As part of its intense preparations for the 2026 World Cup, the Saudi national team has developed a clear training program that takes into account match-time adaptation in preparation for the upcoming match against Spain.
Saudi Arabia’s coaching staff, headed by Georgios Donis, has set the dates for the training sessions ahead of the match against Spain, as it has been decided to hold the next three training sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 12:00 Atlanta time (19:00 Riyadh time).
The newspaper noted:SportsSaudi Arabia stated that this schedule is deliberate as it aims to help the players fully adapt in time for the upcoming match against Spain in the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage next Sunday.
The Saudi greens returned to preparations after their positive 1-1 draw with Uruguay early on Tuesday, where they held an open training session in front of fans and media at Austin’s Q2 Stadium, the team’s home during the World Cup.
According to the observation of the Saudi newspaper, the Greek coach Georgios Donis allocated rehabilitation sessions in the physical training hall of the football players who participated in the starting team in the match against Uruguay.
On the other hand, the rest of the players did field training, and the goalkeepers did special exercises aimed at increasing the nervous response and speed.
Donis is expected to resume his daily technical meetings with the players tomorrow, Wednesday, and begin analyzing the mistakes that occurred in the Uruguay game with a view to avoiding them before the game against Spain.
The team will hold its next three training sessions in Austin at Q2 Stadium before traveling to Atlanta for its final training session at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the European champions, on the eve of the showdown.
This precise program reflects the desire of the technical staff to prepare physically, technically and psychologically for a strong confrontation against one of the most popular title contenders.
