Thread Direct seems to solve Matter’s biggest problem

Made by Apple, Amazon, Google, and Samsung (and others), the issue is open sourceIP-based connectivity software layer for smart home devices. It works over Wi-Fi, ethernet, and low-power internet protocol Thread and currently supports many types of major devices in the home. These include lighting, thermostats, locks, robot vacuums, refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers, ovens, smoke alarms, air conditioners, EV chargers, and more.

A smart home device with the Matter logo can be set up and used with any Matter-compatible ecosystem via Product manager and controlled by more than one and the part called many admins.

Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and Apple Home are the major home platforms that support Matter, along with hundreds of device manufacturers.
