Gromit, the canine star of the Wallace and Gromit cartoons, is “breaking his silence” and writing a memoir.
After “bottling it all up for so long”, it’s time to “spill the beans”, according to publisher Ebury.
Grand: The Autobiography of Gromit reveals his “never-before-told” life story, including details such as “what it’s like to wear Techno Pants, how he sees gnomes, and how he likes the moon”.
The book is due to be published in October and will be the first time audiences hear from Gromit himself, who has no dialogue in the beloved. Aardman movies.
“I am delighted to announce that Wallace’s faithful, and very intelligent, pooch Gromit, has decided to break his silence, put pen to paper, paw to keyboard and share his inner thoughts and feelings with the world,” said Nick Park. “He tells of their lives and their interests, their passions and their torments, their hatred of animals and wild passions, and his book promises to be a deep food for the dogs’ barns and chewable wisdom.”
The publisher’s biography describes Gromit as a skilled knitter, baker, and gardener. “He has received two awards for his marrows in the competition.” Although he reads well, this is his first book.
