The French coach continues his presence in the World Championship
France coach Didier Deschamps joined the list of World Cup history when he led the Roosters against Senegal on Tuesday night in the team’s opener in the current edition of the tournament.
Deschamps made his 20th appearance for France at the World Cup, having won the 2018 edition and reaching the final of the last game before losing to Argentina.
The French “Statesfoot” network reported that Deschamps became the second coach who led the same team in World Cup matches.

The French coach tied with Brazilian Mario Zagalo and Uruguayan Oscar Tabarez, each of whom led their country in the tournament.
This historic list is headed by Germany’s Helmut Schön, who drove the cars in 25 World Championship matches.
This number is the only one Deschamps can hold in the current draw of the tournament.
According to the Opta network, Deschamps is making his fourth World Cup appearance as a manager after appearances in 2014, 2018 and 2022, preceded only by Carlos Alberto Pereira (6) and Bora Milutinovic (5), with Carlos Queiroz set to start his fifth hours as well.
