World Cup 2026: Around 15,000 England fans heading to Dallas

England fans have waited longer than most for their 2026 World Cup campaign to begin.

On Wednesday, six days after the start of the tournament, the Three Lions will take on Croatia in their opening match at the Dallas Stadium.

It’s hard to predict how many England fans will arrive with St George’s crosses around the stands.

The Official England Supporters Travel Club (ESTC) has sold its allocation of 4,022 tickets. Controversially, some FIFA resale sites appear to be listed at inflated prices.

The number of independently traveling fans and ex-pats is truly an unknown.

United Kingdom Football Policing Unit (UKFPU) told BBC Sport Between 12,000 and 15,000 England fans are expected at each group stage game

The UKFPU added that England fans bought 89,000 World Cup tickets.

It covers all 104 matches and there is no individual breakdown, while most fans will attend multiple matches.

But that number does not include fans who left for the United States without getting tickets.

Germany ranked high in 2006, with the UKFPU estimating that 350,000 people made short trips to watch games in stadia but mostly in fan parks.

Only 4,000 are believed to have visited Qatar four years ago, with 20,000 to 30,000 being a typical figure.
