Hello, Arsia, and you are welcome Ars Technica 2026 reader survey! It’s been almost four years since we did a big site survey like this, where we ask our readers—you!—what you like about the work we do and what we can change. This type of input is very important to ensure we are steering the ship properly, and we take the results very seriously. (The last time we did this, we had several thousand responses, and this is very important to us!)
You don’t have to be a reader since 1998 to read it, either. Whether you’re a first-time reader, a veteran of the game, a front-page commenter, a newbie sysadmin, or a CEO, we want to hear what you have to say, whoever you are. What matters is that you are human! (Guests are also welcome, although we didn’t mean outsider groups. We’ll deal with this issue if it comes up, I guess.) There are several levels of documentation. Yes, we will read what you write there!

Fortunately, this isn’t a long survey – just that several direct questions. We do not collect any personally identifiable information, and responses will be viewed in aggregate. None of the data will be analyzed by anyone other than us, and none will be sold or distributed outside of Ars. (We are using SurveyMonkey for our survey platform, as we have done many times in the past.)
