Lenovo’s next tablet has a powerful connector and a raised stand

Lenovo announced its new model Tab Plus tablet with full speaker which also puts a lot of emphasis on sound. While the original Tab Plus launched two years ago with eight speakers that required a 13.58mm rear panel to squeeze them all in, the new Tab Plus Gen 2 packs nine speakers with a rear bumper that’s now 22.7mm thick. In order to support the increased volume, the Gen 2’s speaker bump includes a flexible curve that rotates 360 degrees to support the tablet in terms of appearance and appearance.

Lenovo hasn’t confirmed where the Tab Plus Gen 2 is expected to be launched, but says it will “soon be available in global markets.” The original was released worldwide including the US, where it started at $289.99, but the new model will start at $399.99. Gen 2 is now powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 octa-core processor in several configurations that combine it with 6GB to 12GB of RAM and 128GB to 256GB of storage that can be expanded using a microSD card up to 2TB.

Like the first generation Tab Plus, the Gen 2 Dolby Atmos-tuned speaker array features tweeters and woofers to boost its bass performance. There are also several models with EQ settings for movies and music, and you can use the Tab Plus Gen 2 as a standalone Bluetooth speaker with audio from another device.

The tablet features a 12.1-inch 120Hz 2.5K LCD display and a large 10,200mAh rechargeable battery that Lenovo says lets you watch YouTube for up to 15 hours before charging. The front camera of Gen 2 remains 8 megapixels, but the rear camera gets 8 to 13 megapixels. Out of the box it will come with Android 16, but the company promises two years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches to keep users protected until 2030.
