What did El Torindo say after the draw of the first round?
Saudi Arabian national team captain Salem Al-Dosari believes that Al-Akhdar was unlucky on the night of the draw (1-1) against Uruguay in the first round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The curtain fell on the first round of Group Eight matches with Saudi Arabia and Uruguay tied on goal difference with Spain and Cape Verde after they were also drawn but with a negative result, so each team got a point.
Al-Dosari said in the television announcements after the match. “We were unlucky against Uruguay because we deserved to win, but this is football.”

He added: “We came here with a winning mentality and we’re not satisfied with a draw, and our goal is to make amends going forward.”
He concluded. “Playing in the World Cup is definitely a great feeling, but I’ve been there before and I want to help my country in the current tournament.”
