7.00 Windsor – Durham Castle and Shiplake clash in the feature

D Fitzdares Sprint Series Qualifier Handicap – worth £10,800 – sees Durham Castle and Shiplake clash.

Durham Castle This race looks to go back to back, this time off HavanaGreat Time last term. The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained gelding was seen just once in March, finishing four lengths fifth at Kempton. That race form was boosted last week when Wild Clary – fourth that day – won well at Newbury.

90-rated Shiplake Durham are a bit more open than Castle and come here for their second win of the year. He scored in fine style at Southwell in January but subsequently failed to improve enough to trouble Judge in the Victoria Cup – where he finished 23rd. Last time out he finished mid-pack in Class Three and dropped 2lb accordingly. He could threaten off his new mark with David Egan booked.
