Protesters clash with police at the G7 summit in Geneva.

Protesters have clashed with police forces against the upcoming G7 summit in Geneva.

Protesters smashed windows and set cars on fire, using tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.

“The message sent to all the countries that are oppressing us with money and power is a basic message,” said one protester who was saddened to see the rally turn into violence.

The G7 summit begins in Evian-les-Bains on June 15 and will bring together the leaders of Britain, France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States and the European Union.
