What is the story?
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sparked widespread controversy over the start of the 2026 World Cup after a scathing comment he made while appearing as a pundit on German channel Magenta TV.
According to the report of the Spanish newspaper “AS”, Klopp said about the coach of the German national team, Julian Nagelsmann. “Fortunately, Julian still picks the line-up… until now,” he sarcastically emphasized the last word, hinting at a possible change in the future.

Nagelsmann later moderated his tone, saying that both Klopp and Muller were “wonderful people” and successful figures in world football, so they were free to express their opinions.
