Polish Wojciech Szczesny, the goalkeeper of Catalan “Barcelona”, admitted that after the age of 36, they began to sit on him for years.
“Sport” newspaper published Szczesny’s statements in an extensive interview given to one of the Polish TV channels, in which he spoke about many personal aspects and his personal life.
Szczesny made a rare confession in professional football, where the question arose directly. “Which is easier for you, dealing with aging in your personal life or in your professional life?”
He answered without hesitation. “The passage of time in personal life is a pleasant experience, but in professional life it is not.”
He added: “In my professional life, I don’t hide that every training has become more difficult for me, it’s a struggle, it requires a lot of energy from me.”
He stressed, “It has become difficult for me to wake up in the morning, and my body requires more effort every day.”
Despite this, he emphasized that he deals with this issue as a daily challenge, stating: “I see it as a daily challenge to get up, go to training and give everything I have.”
Szczesny has a year left on his contract with Barcelona and despite his statements, it seems that he is ready to continue his career at Barcelona as normal, although he admits it will not be easy.
