Brazil star Vinicius Junior has confirmed he is fully prepared for the extra pressure he faces at the current World Cup, showing he now has more experience to overcome any circumstances and help his country.
Vinicius Junior’s statements came after winning the best player award… Brazil-Morocco match of the first round of the group stage.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Vinicius analyzed Samba’s opening game, describing the draw as an acceptable result in a game of extreme difficulty for the Seleção, who had to respond with a goal from the Real Madrid star to rescue his side and draw at the New York Stadium.
The Brazilian star spoke about the pressure of the opening match, saying: “The style and plans change completely after conceding a goal in the first minutes of the game, but after that we managed to open up the field more and dominate the ball, and the pressure is always like this in the opening matches.”
Regarding his adaptation to the current climate compared to the past, the Royal player said: “In the last World Cup I was a very young player, but today I have more experience and it is true that I am under more pressure, but I think I am ready for what will happen in this tournament and the pitch is different and the weather is very hot and we have to adapt to this atmosphere because everything happens very quickly.”
Regarding the difficulties of controlling the Brazilian team during the game, Vinicius explained. “The coach asked us to have more possession, rotate it and move it from one side to the other, and I think we managed to do that, but we couldn’t create more chances because the Moroccan team defended very well.”
“What we faced against Morocco is the nature of big tournaments and we have to adapt to improve our game and our level from now on. We also have to analyze our game and there are definitely aspects and positives, but we have to keep developing because the next game is very close and we have to win it no matter the cost.”
